Youth coach – 7 years as a coach with West Side Little League and Tuolumne County Youth Soccer. Served on the West Side Little League Board.
Senior advocate – Art Director for Friends and Neighbors Magazine – Celebrating Seniors!
Vietnam Veteran – Served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1973. Served in Nha Trang, Vietnam ’70-’71, and has been a volunteer on veteran’s committees to design two local memorials.
Graduate of Cal State East Bay (formerly CSU-Hayward), with Bachelor of Arts degrees in sociology and mass communication.
Business owner – Co-owner of Columbine Design for 25 years, working with a wide range of businesses and nonprofits. Long-term clients include Sonora Area Foundation, Strawberry Music Festival, Donaldson Eye Care, Golden State Cellular, Gianelli and Polley and many, many more.
Community volunteer – Active in many planning groups over last 12 years and currently active with the Tuolumne Township Citizens Group.
Husband, father and grandfather – Dave and his wife, Dianne Shannon, have been married 32 years. Their sons, Josh and Shannon, are Summerville High School graduates. Josh has two sons for whom Dave is “Grandpa.”
Professional artist and arts supporter – Lead photographer with Strawberry Music Festival for 15 years, co-owner of Dave & Diane Photography, volunteer with Sierra Repertory Theatre for 31 years, volunteer and supporter of Central Sierra Arts Council, Foothill Farmland Arts Festival and Sonora Art Trails.
